Description
The Grace Design m701 4-Channel Mic Preamp Option brings the same preamp pedigree found in Grace Design’s acclaimed m108 and m801 MkII into the m701 modular audio interface. Each module delivers four channels of preamplification with up to 69 dB of gain (75 dB total gain range), phantom power, polarity switching, and a ribbon mode on each channel that protects ribbon microphones from phantom power while also increasing input impedance. The module installs into any of the m701’s eight AD/DA option slots, and when two mic preamp cards are installed in adjacent slots, a ribbon cable links them so that all eight inputs are conveniently accessed through a single AES59 connector on the first card. For studios that want Grace’s legendary preamp sound fully integrated into their conversion chain, this is the most direct path to get there.
