Merging Technologies PT64V3 I/O Expansion Card for Hapi MkIII
Description
Designed specifically for the Merging Technologies Hapi Mk III audio interface, the PT64V3 DigiLink I/O Expansion Card allows you to connect Pro Tools HDX systems to RAVENNA/AES67 and Dante audio networks via the interface. This expansion card is ideal for marrying existing Pro Tools HDX systems with Merging Technologies pristine preamps and converters.
This expansion card can provide up to a maximum of 64 channels at 48 kHz (higher sampling rates may reduce channel count). Two DigiLink Mini ports are provided for connecting to HDX systems (a primary and secondary/expansion port) and provide a low-latency connection between Pro Tools systems and audio networks. This expansion card also supports Hapi Mk II interfaces (RAVENNA/AES67 connections only).
Use Case Scenarios
The PT64V3 card is the best way to use Merging Technologies and Neumann's pristine preamps, AD and DA, to record and playback to and from a Pro Tools HDX system. It also allows you to connect a Pro Tools HDX system to the various Missions running on a Neumann MT48 or Merging Technologies Anubis, for the best control room monitoring solution, personal cue mixes, and so much more.
PT64V3, along with Hapi Mk III, Anubis, MT 48, and expansion cards, can be combined into solid alternatives to Avid MTRX Studio and MTRX II, enabling flexibility, high quality, and potential cost savings depending on the configurations.
Channels of I/O
• A single PT64V3 card can connect to an HDX card via two DigiLink Mini connectors, to send and receive:
• 64 channels at 48 kHz
• 32 channels at 96 kHz
• 16 channels at 192 kHz
Configurations
Two PT64V3 cards can be fitted in a single Hapi Mk III for up to 128 channels to and from an HDX2 system. Two Hapi Mk III equipped with a total of three PT64V3 cards can interface with an HDX3 system for up to 192 DigiLink I/O to the network.
A Hapi Mk III can also be fitted with one PT64V3 card and a MADI128V3 card while still running the built-in 8 AES3 channels and 8 ADAT channels bringing the maximum number of outputs to the network to 208 or 210 inputs from the network in Ravenna/ AES67 mode. PT64V3 card can emulate HD I/O, HD MADI, and 192 I/O hardware latencies in order for Pro Tools to correctly compensate for hardware delay after recording passes and help maintain mixed configurations in sync.
