Merging Technologies Commentary Mission for ANUBIS
Description
The Merging Technologies Commentary Mission focuses on providing a very easy to use implementation of a broadcast commentary box, targeted at journalists commenting on all kinds of On-Air live events such as sport, e-sport, radio programs and more. The mission offers monitoring and commentary features for a single or two commentators, with all necessary microphone, headphones and speakers’ connectivity, best in class mic preamp and headphone amp and AD/DA directly in the box, with full RAVENNA/AES67 or Dante connectivity to the broadcast console.
Both commentators have access to 4 talkback channels, 8 stereo programs, 2 mono intercoms, their own sidetone and the sidetone of the other commentator to listen to. Any of these can be hidden and renamed for a better and safer user experience. The behavior of the monitoring functions can be customized differently when On-Air, talking, receiving signal from the Intercoms or when receiving commands from the broadcast console. For example an auto-dim function is available for automatically dimming the monitoring of both commentators when intercom channels are active. The Commentary Mission also offers EQ and Dynamics for both commentators, allowing to send a clean signal upstream.
The unit touch screen may be split for each commentator when necessary and all Anubis physical buttons can be custom-mapped to any commentator actions. A fully featured Web Interface allows control of each commentator functions separately, and gives access to all parameters of the unit for remote technical operators. While giving access to traditional Analog I/O, the Commentary Mission implementation also focuses on pure AoIP network audio integration, offering all required standards such as AES67, RAVENNA, DANTE, ST2110, ST2022-7, NMOS as well as full remote access for operation and configuration through a fully featured Web Interface and a Web Socket REST API.
The Commentary Mission naturally also works on Anubis running the Dante firmware, with the appropriate Dante I/O license from Audinate.
