The Canon RF 200-800 mm F6.3-9 IS USM Lens is aimed at wildlife and sports photography, and is a Full Frame super telephoto zoom lens for EOS R mirrorless cameras. This new and affordable lens reaches further than any other lens in its class, offering all the desirable focal lengths in one. On Canon's crop sensor RF-S 1.6x crop sensor cameras, it gives a equivalent focal length of 320-1280mm. Thanks to an 800mm maximum focal length plus RF 1.4x and 2x Extender compatibility with the whole AF area, the RF 200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM has incredible power to pull even small subjects right into the frame, from as close as 0.8m. Takes 95mm front filters.
The Canon RF 200-800 offers up to 5.5-stops of optical image stabilisation and 7.5-stops on compatible RF series cameras with in body image stabilisation (IBIS) and when used at 200mm means excellent handheld shooting is possible, letting you react quickly to situations as they happen. Dust and moisture resistance equivalent to our pro L-series lenses, and white exterior paint for reliable optical performance when shooting out in the sun.
Optical construction is 17 elements in 11 groups, with three UD lenses correct chromatic aberration while a Super Spectra coating reduces ghosting and flare. A Nano USM keeps moving subjects in sharp focus, providing fast, quiet and accurate AF while a nine-blade aperture gives beautiful background rendering.
The attached tripod collar is useful for mounting to a tripod or monopod, and aids holding in a fixed position for extended periods. Lens function buttons helps instinctive shooting along with zoom torque adjustment and a combined Focus and Control Ring for added control.
