Anaheim, California. Jan 24, 2013— Muse Research and Development, Inc. makers of the RECEPTOR VIP dedicated hardware-based plug-in player are debuting their new top-of-the-line RECEPTOR QU4TTRO at the 2013 Winter NAMM show. The RECEPTOR QU4TTRO features a new quad-core processing engine, a 2TB hard drive, 16GB of RAM for enhanced performance, and comes bundled with a PreSonus 1818 audio interface to provide up to 18 inputs and outputs – 8 analog inputs and outputs as well as 8 digital inputs and outputs, along with S/PDIF digital I/O. The new QU4TTRO model also features a 64-bit operating system with Intellibridge™ technology that lets you run 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins simultaneously, as well as expanding the capabilities of Muse Research’s exclusive LIVE MODE, a breakthrough new look-ahead caching technology for performing live with virtual instruments and effects.
QU4TTRO: Forth generation RECEPTOR gets quad-core processing
The name QU4TTRO not only identifies this as the 4th generation Receptor, it’s also descriptive of the new quad-core processing engine that powers it. This new engine features exclusive Muse R&D TetraCore™ technology that dynamically balances the load between the cores with priority given to audio tasks (instead of graphics and other less important system calls) so as to exploit every ounce of available processing power. The result is superior performance when running even the most processor-intensive virtual instruments and effects.
64-bit OS supports more RAM for unbeatable performance live and in the studio
Complimenting the TetraCore™ processing engine is QU4TTRO‘s new 64-bit OS that supports both 64-bit and 32-bit virtual instruments and effects. The 64-bit plug-in support means that you can access up to 16GB of memory, and with 32- and 64-bit plug-in bridging, you can run both types of plug-ins simultaneously. Even more impressive is what you can do with the extra RAM when performing, thanks to RECEPTOR’s exclusive LIVE MODE feature. LIVE MODE, found only on RECEPTOR, lets you pre-load the sounds or effects for your performance into RAM, making them available to you INSTANTLY with no waiting for sounds, samples, or effects to load. The combination of a 64-bit OS along with the LIVE MODE feature further enhances RECEPTOR’s status as the go-to instrument for performing live.
Four times the I/O support compared to previous Receptors
The RECEPTOR QU4TTRO is perfect for use in the studio as a way to take some of the load off your digital audio workstation. Integration of the QU4TTRO into your studio is a piece of cake thanks to the bundled PreSonus 1818 interface. With the 1818 interface, the RECEPTOR QU4TTRO supports four times the analog I/O as previous Receptors, with eight analog inputs and outputs and eight ADAT optical digital inputs and outputs. There’s also a stereo S/PDIF digital input and output and digital word clock output to let the RECEPTOR QU4TTRO adapt to virtually any environment in the studio or on the road. RECEPTOR QU4TTRO is also a great solution for running multiple simultaneous effects at once in a front-of-house system; each input and output can have its own effect letting you process multiple streams of audio simultaneously, either in the analog or digital domains.
The multitude of inputs can also be used to mix and process external devices like guitars, microphones or keyboard instruments, letting the RECEPTOR QU4TTRO become the hub of your performance environment.
