DVW-970P - DIGITAL BETACAM CAMCORDER

Sony has introduced a new high end professional camcorder designed for high-quality standard definition acquisition in an array of applications. The DVW-970 records in the Digital Betacam format and adds greater levels of image quality and production flexibility with the new capability of 625/50i and 625/25p image capture.

The camcorder is based on 2/3-inch Power HAD™ EX CCD imaging sensors, and features 14-bit A/D converters for superb picture quality. Providing signal-to-noise ratio of 63dB (PAL) with -145 dB of vertical smear, the new camcorder also offers several option boards for even greater functionality.

The CBK-SD01 option board enables SDI output when using the camcorder with external VTRs and the CBK-FC01 enables 24P image capture. The option boards are also common with Sony's XDCAM series of camcorders.

DVW2000P - DIGITAL BETACAM RECORDER/PLAYER

Sony has further evolved its range of Digital BETACAM products by enhancing their flexibility, scalability, and operability - the result is the new DVW-M2000P and DVW-2000P Studio Recorders. These recorders inherit all the advantages of previous models, DVW-A500P, such as superb picture quality and outstanding video performance. What's more, the DVW-M2000P VTR also provides powerful playback capability for all Sony 1/2-inch standard-definition format tapes, allowing for continuous use of important archive materials and acquisition tools. Furthermore, a plug-in HD upconversion option allows these VTRs to output HD signals of 1080/50i (DVW-M2000P/2000P). This is possible not only from Digital BETACAM playback, but also from the playback signals of other compatible formats such as the BETACAM(TM), BETACAM SX(TM) and MPEG IMX(TM) formats, providing a very smooth migration to future HD operations. Further advancements such as metadata handling capability, flexible audio operation, and a compact body design are all incorporated in these VTRs to increase their operational convenience.

J SERIES - MULTIFORMAT COMPACT PLAYERS

To further extend the value of MPEG and Betacam based recording systems, Sony introduces the J-series compact players. The design concept of the J-series compact players is to make available a compact office viewer for journalists, production staff and editors. Their compact design makes them ideal for personal, desktop use. At the same time, they have all the features required for viewing, logging and as a tape feeder to a non-linear editing system.
