Worldwide demand for Lawo products has grown significantly in the last few years. To cope with the increased requirements on production, Lawo recently celebrated the opening of their new building at the head office in Rastatt, Germany.
Following seven months of construction and around a five million Euro investment, the Production, Mechanical Engineering and Warehouse departments took only three days to ‘move house’. The new facilities, directly adjoining the existing premises, have expanded the ground floor to double in size to 7000 m². The additional space is mainly designed to achieve a more efficient manufacturing process, with a significant increase in capacity.
“Erecting this building was a real ‘tour de force’. It is the largest expansion in the company’s history and is a clear commitment to this location, and to the preservation and growth of jobs,” emphasises CEO Philipp Lawo. The company, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, employs 185 staff worldwide – 160 in Rastatt alone, where the R&D and Production departments have been based right from the start. Lawo has always put much emphasis on continuously improving their products, and developing new features and new products.
